How do we Please God?

Prayer That Brings Miracles

PRAY THIS PRAYER OUT ALOUD, EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!!! DO IT NOW!!! IT WILL TAKE FEW MINUTES TO GO THROUGH.
I started not to do this, but as I read it....
I understood God to say, 'You need a miracle tomorrow' so here goes... Prov. 29:25
You never know When God is going to bless you!
Good things happen when You least expect them to!

"Dear Almighty Lord God Jesus Christ, I thank you for this day, for this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
I thank you for my being able to see, and to hear, and to speak, and to feel, and to taste of Your good creation this day and every day.
I'm blessed because you are such a loving and such a forgiving God, and such an understanding and caring God.
You have done so much for me and yet you keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything I have ever done, or ever said or ever thought that was not pleasing to you. I say I am so sorry.
I now repent and ask for your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe O God
From all danger, hurt, and harm.
Help me to start this day and every day
With a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day,
To clear my mind so that I can hear from you.

I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way, that they come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, even through this Prayer I am now praying.

I pray for those that are misjudged
Misguided, misused, and misunderstood.
I pray for those who don't know you intimately.
I pray for those who will delete this prayer
without sharing the Love of God with others
I pray for those that don't believe.
But I thank You, that I do believe
That God changes people and God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every one of the family members
In their households. I pray for peace, love, and joy in their homes; I pray that they are out of debt
And that all their financial needs are met, and they have more than enough to be a blessing to others.
I pray for every eye that reads and says this Prayer
That they come to know that there is no problem, no circumstance, no situation that is greater than God, for God is greater than all, God is greater in all, God is greater through all, and God is greater upon all.
For God, the Most High God Almighty of all the Universes is truly the Greatest of All.

I pray for all my enemies, and those who have used me and abused me, and have lifted up their hands and their tongue against me. I now forgive them for all they have done. In Jesus Name, all my enemies are now forgiven, and I pray God forgiveness upon all my enemies, for they do know what they are doing, for I am a Child of God.

So every battle that I have ever encountered in my life is now in God's Loving hands, for You, O God  fights all my battles for me.
I pray that these words be believed, received and accepted
into the hearts of every eye that sees them
and every tongue that confesses them
in name of Jesus Christ, I pray believing,
receiving and accepting God's miracles in my life this
day and every day, for God's Divine favor is now my
heritage, in Jesus Name. Amen and Amen! It is 
done! O' Praise The Lord! Alleluia!

Are virtuous women an endangered species?

 What makes a God-fearing, virtuous woman? She is a woman with the strength of an army- God's army, that is.

 She is a woman who is efficient, valiant, and strong.

Her strength is obtained through years of waiting on the Lord, prayer, and devotion to the Word of God.

A God-fearing woman has Jesus as her first priority.

 She knows that doing God's will for her life is more important than doing what she wants to do. She is blessed by God and the favor of God is upon her life. She refuses to live beneath her privilege as a child of the King because she knows her worth. 

God has blessed her with everything she needs to fulfil her role as a child of God.


A Godly woman doesn't use her abilities to take advantage of others.

She uses what God has given her to glorify Him in all she does. She knows that she is intelligent, competent, and a valuable asset to the kingdom of God. She deserves to be cherished.

She possesses Godly wisdom, prudence, reliability, and trust.

She is praised and appreciated by her family.

 If she is married, she is a crowning joy to her husband, the icing on his cake. Her husband should be a Godly man with a vision and who knows how to encourage and positively influence his wife. 


The two of them complement each other and know that marriage is a partnership, not a temporary agreement.

A true woman of God is sent by God to fulfil her role in God's divine plan.

She has vision and can see potential where others see emptiness.

She is both spiritual and practical, applying the Word of God to her life. She lets her Light shine and does not waste time doing unproductive things or throwing pity parties. She knows how to be content in all situations, how to be business-minded and has a benevolent heart.


A Godly woman thinks before she acts, knows how to comfort and encourage, accepts and gives nothing less than the best, and does not let outside influences stop her or her household from achieving their full potential because she is covered by the blood of Jesus.

Women of God, we are royalty!

 Let's not live beneath our stations as princesses! We are special because our Heavenly Father cherishes us.

Why Our Good Works Cannot Save Us?



But why is it that good works cannot save us?  Here are five answers to that question.

 First, good works can't cancel your sin but sin ruins your good works.

Suppose you invite me over for breakfast one morning and offer to fix a three-egg omelette. As you begin to cook, I smell a putrid odour coming from the kitchen.

 What's that awful smell?

Oh, it's just a rotten egg. But don't worry, I added a few good eggs that will cancel out the rottenness.

 Do you think I would eat your omelette?

Not for a million dollars.

Why?

Because goodness doesn't cancel rottenness but rottenness ruins goodness.

 The same is true in the spiritual realm. You can’t be good enough to cancel out the putrid effect of your own sins.



Second, good works can't save you because God doesn't grade on a curve.

 He demands absolute perfection.

If you understand the Bible, you know that it only takes one sin to send you to hell.

 Let's suppose that you somehow only committed three sins a day.

That's impossible for most of us because we commit that many sins before getting out of bed in the morning. But let's give you credit for being very, very good. And let's further suppose that you never committed more than three sins a day for your entire life.

That would be over 1000 sins a year, which would mean that in 70 years you would end up with over 70,000 sins on your record.

Now let's further suppose that those sins were really speeding tickets.

 If a police officer stopped you for running a red light and discovered that you had 70,000 outstanding speeding tickets on your record, what would he do with you?

 You'd end up in jail so long they would throw away the key.


Do you think God is any different?

 But you and I commit far more than three sins a day. Our sins are like a mountain-so high we can’t climb over it, so wide we can't walk around it, so deep we can't tunnel under it. Our sins are so great that our works could never save us.

Third, good works can't save you because you can never be good enough long enough.

Just when you get a "good streak" going, you sin and have to start all over again.



Fourth, you can never be sure you've done enough.

That's why most religious people have no assurance of their salvation.

 They truly believe that being good will get them to heaven.

But as we've already seen, "doing good" is never good enough because we can never do enough to pay for our own sins.

There is one more answer to consider.

 Good works can't save you because if they could, you wouldn't need Jesus at all.

Why would Jesus die on the cross if somehow you could save yourself?

When we get to heaven, no one will be able to say,
"You and me, Jesus, we did it together. I baked the cookies and you died on the cross."

It's either all by Jesus or all by your own efforts – and nothing in between.

The Simple Salvation Prayer

Dear God in heaven, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need Your forgiveness.
...

 I believe that Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the LORD of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank You Jesus for Your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank You Jesus that Your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore LORD Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to You alone and not to myself.

Thank You LORD Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. -Titus 3:4-6

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is LORD," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. -Romans 10:9-10

Prayer - Look our broken hearts, Lord

Psalm 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." (NIV)

Jesus, we lift up our voice in praise to you. Look to our hearts, Lord, and see the brokenness there. Hear our prayers and bring healing, hope, and blessings to our lives. May we always remember to be humble and live a life that is a loving witness to your name. Amen.

Love of money is a root of all kinds of evil

1 Timothy 6:6-10 NIV "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please help us to live in the truth, and know that all our needs will be supplied generously by You. Even when our hope is fading, you remain steady by our side with abundant peace for us. Thank You for the peace and contentment You freely give. What an amazing faithful Father You are. In Jesus name, amen.

Lord, send me, I'll go

God will get our attention one way or another.

The Master called my name one day because He needed someone to go.

I said "Lord, in my spare time, between school, spending time with my husband, working from 8 to 6, and trying to coordinate a program for my community to help our children do better, I will help you look. See, I know I can't go right now cause I have so much to do."

He said, "Well, where shall I find such a person? I thought I saw your name on my list of available people."

"Well Lord, that was the prayer that I prayed last year, but since then, things have changed."

He said, "Like what?"
"Well I'm working on my Ph.D. and I'm needed by so many people, and my husband is always wanting something done, and on top of that my community EXPECTS me to help and give to them so . . ."

"Well, seeing that you're busy, I'll let you go, but we will talk again, if YOU have some time."

I went on through the days, and the weeks, and the months completing my task as always. One evening, while studying for my comp exams, I received a call from the hospital concerning my husband. He had been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition. I dropped everything and ran to the hospital where I found my husband hanging on for dear
life. I immediately begin to pray, "Lord, don't take him now, I can't bare it." But my prayer echoed off the wall and returned into mine own ear.

That next morning I left the hospital tired and weary, and walked in the door of my classroom just in time to begin my comps. As the professors begin asking me questions I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. In my mind, I begin praying, praying hard, but my prayer echoed again and I found myself upset at God because He was no where to be found. I could not explain to them what was happening.

After leaving from my exams, I called in to work because I was so distraught at all that was going on. I explained to my supervisor what had happened and she demanded that I take some time off. After visiting my husband in the hospital that evening, I went home and fell into a sunken state crying and despairing. Just then I heard someone calling my
name.

"Lord, is that YOU?"

"Well yes it is. Do YOU have some time? I wanted to see if I could just talk . . . "

Instead of waiting to hear His questions, I lashed out in anger and resentment. "How is it that when I needed You today, YOU couldn't be found and last night I cried and cried but all I heard were echoes from the walls. My husband is dying, I'm flunking out of school, I may not have a job and You can just sit and say YOU want to talk?"

The Lord interrupted me in my foolish speaking.

"My child, I was busy, out looking for someone to go and tell others about Me when you cried. By the time I came to answer, you had moved on to something else. So, I decided to let your husband rest, and keep you home for a few days. That way MAYBE you would get in touch with Me, if YOU had some time. For you see, before your husband, your school, or
your job needs you, I NEED YOU. And if all these things take you away from Me, I have to almost take them away from YOU, in order to get a moment."

I calmed down and began to cry. For I remembered my prayer of wanting to go and do for the Lord.

He said, "I just wanted to recheck with you to see if you knew of ANYONE that I could send to be a witness for Me and tell others about Me . . . any one at all . . .?"

With tears in my eyes and feeling so unworthy I said, "Lord, send me, I'll go."

God should never have to ask us if we have some time. When He died on the cross He put aside everything to ensure us eternal life. We should be more than GRATEFUL to do service for the Lord -- to witness, and t
o tell ANYONE we can about Jesus. Don't let your "things," WHATEVER they may be, get you so tied up that God has to become a meeting time in your yearly planner. He had more than enough time for us. The least we could do is have time for him.

Grace IS enough

"I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens."
--Philippians 4:11

What if God's only gift to you was His grace to save you..would you be content? You beg him to solve your financial difficulties. 
You pray for a speedy end to a cold or the flu. You ask him for a nicer car, a bigger house, help with relationship trouble, or a promotion at work. What if His answer was "My grace is enough."? Would you be content? 
From Heaven's perspective, grace IS enough. If God did nothing more than save you from hell, could anyone complain? Having eternal life, dare we grumble at an aching body? Having being given riches in Heaven, dare we moan about earthly finances?
Our Heavenly Father has spared us from an eternity completely devoid of His presence and guaranteed us of an eternity with Him in His glorious kingdom. Everything else is just 'icing on the cake'.

Our delight is in knowing You, God

Psalm 119 33-40 NIV "Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!"
Dear Heavenly Father,
Your words truly are a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Our delight is in knowing You more every day as you so faithfully reveal Your purpose for each of us. Help us to remain in You always and abide in Your Holy ways. In Jesus name, amen.

I never knew you

There was an atheist who went through life like most people.
He had his good times and his bad. He died at an old age of 88. 
He woke up and saw a man Standing in front of him. He said, "Who are you?" The man said, "Well, John, it doesn't matter now, you didn't know me while you were on the earth and it's too late for you to know me now." 
John said, "Just tell me your name, maybe I did know you and I just don't remember." 
The man said, "Well, John, my name is Jesus and I'm the one who died for you." 
John said, "What....??? You aren't real....there is no God. How can this be?"
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the day you met your wife..???" 
John said, "Well of course I do. It was the day she ran into the back of my car on the
freeway and I got out to yell at her. Of course I didn't, instead I fell in love with her."  
Jesus said, "John, I made sure your wife ran into your car that day."John couldn't say a word.
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the time you were at work and on top of that tall building.??
You fell that day and if you had fallen to the ground you would have died."
John said, "Yeah, but I didn't fall." Jesus said, "No you didn't because I sent one of my angels to catch you." 
John couldn't say a word. 
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the day your baby girl was born?" 
John said, "Well of course I do, that was one of the best days of my life!" 
Jesus said, "I held that baby girl close to me before I sent her to you hoping you would see that beautiful creation and believe in me. I sent Christians to witness to you but you would not listen. I did everything I could possibly do to make you believe in me but you would not."
John said, "Jesus, please let me go back just one time so I can tell everyone
the truth!" 
Jesus said, "John, I am sorry but it is too late. Depart from me, I never knew you."

In All Your Ways

TODAY'S WORD

Do you need direction in your life? Ask yourself, "Am I acknowledging God
in all my ways?" In other words, is He first place in your life? All throughout the day, we should be acknowledging God, asking for His help, seeking His wisdom, obeying His commands and thanking Him for His goodness.

In the morning, we should wake up and say, "Father, thank You for another
beautiful day. I commit this day, my plans and my future into Your hands." When you start the day like this, you are acknowledging God. He promises to crown your day with success. When you are driving on the freeway say, "Father, thank You for keeping me safe." At the office say, "Lord, help me to be focused and productive today." At home, "Father, bless my children." Before you go to bed, "Lord, thank You for a good night's rest." When you're acknowledging Him in all your ways, He promises to direct your paths. He promises to lead and guide you into paths of peace, joy and everlasting life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, I acknowledge You in everything I do today. I invite You to
direct my steps. I invite You to search my heart. I surrender every area of my life to You. Keep me close to You always in Jesus' name. Amen.

Dear Friends in Christ,
Life is fleeting, even as we are reading this email, we are growing older and nearer to eternity. As a Steve Jobs fan and one of the million users of his creative technologies, I can't help but think of his zest for life - and pray the same for all of us. The Apple iPhone-iPad-iPod founder died young aged 56, but taught us a lot of lessons. Some of them being to - Dream, Dare & Do - using the talents, the LORD has blessed us with. For we will all be held accountable at the end of life.  In 2005, in a moving address at Stanford University after receiving surgery for pancreatic cancer, he reflected on his own mortality, urging his audience: 'Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.' Below is the text from the speech.

I am honoured to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories. The third story first.
My third story is about death - When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumour on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.
I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumour. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.
This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope it's the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It is life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and Polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.
Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. Thank you all very much.
The first story is about connecting the dots - I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?  It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.
And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the seven miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:
Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.
None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it's likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.
Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
My second story is about love and loss - I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2bn company with over 4,000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our board of directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.
I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologise for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me — I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.
I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.
During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.
I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.
