HOW DOES GOD COMFORT ME?

HOW DOES GOD COMFORT ME?
HE LOVES YOU.

PSALM 119:76
LET, I PRAY, YOUR MERCIFUL KINDNESS BE FOR MY COMFORT,
ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD TO YOUR SERVANT.

HE PRAYS FOR YOU.

ROMANS 8:26
LIKEWISE THE SPIRIT ALSO HELPS IN OUR WEAKNESSES.
FOR WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY FOR AS WE OUGHT,
BUT THE SPIRIT HIMSELF MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US
WITH GROANINGS WHICH CANNOT BE UTTERED.

HE GIVES YOU HOPE & JOY.

PSALM 94:19
IN THE MULTITUDE OF MY ANXIETIES WITHIN ME,
YOUR COMFORTS DELIGHT MY SOUL.

HE LISTENS TO YOU.

PSALM 55:17
EVENING AND MORNING AND AT NOON
I WILL PRAY, AND CRY ALOUD,
AND HE SHALL HEAR MY VOICE.

HE HEALS YOUR BROKEN HEART.

PSALM 147:3
HE HEALS THE BROKENHEARTED
AND BINDS UP THEIR WOUNDS.

Prayer - Look our broken hearts, Lord

Psalm 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." (NIV)

Jesus, we lift up our voice in praise to you. Look to our hearts, Lord, and see the brokenness there. Hear our prayers and bring healing, hope, and blessings to our lives. May we always remember to be humble and live a life that is a loving witness to your name. Amen.

Abide in the Wisdom of God, not of the world or of ourselves.

Abide in the Wisdom of God, not of the world or of ourselves.

1 Cor 3:19
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

1 John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 Cor 2:5-9
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Ps 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom : a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Col 2:8
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1 Cor 1:25-27
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise ; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Prov 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

2 Tim 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears ;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Rom 1:22
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Love of money is a root of all kinds of evil

1 Timothy 6:6-10 NIV "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please help us to live in the truth, and know that all our needs will be supplied generously by You. Even when our hope is fading, you remain steady by our side with abundant peace for us. Thank You for the peace and contentment You freely give. What an amazing faithful Father You are. In Jesus name, amen.

Lord, send me, I'll go

God will get our attention one way or another.

The Master called my name one day because He needed someone to go.

I said "Lord, in my spare time, between school, spending time with my husband, working from 8 to 6, and trying to coordinate a program for my community to help our children do better, I will help you look. See, I know I can't go right now cause I have so much to do."

He said, "Well, where shall I find such a person? I thought I saw your name on my list of available people."

"Well Lord, that was the prayer that I prayed last year, but since then, things have changed."

He said, "Like what?"
"Well I'm working on my Ph.D. and I'm needed by so many people, and my husband is always wanting something done, and on top of that my community EXPECTS me to help and give to them so . . ."

"Well, seeing that you're busy, I'll let you go, but we will talk again, if YOU have some time."

I went on through the days, and the weeks, and the months completing my task as always. One evening, while studying for my comp exams, I received a call from the hospital concerning my husband. He had been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition. I dropped everything and ran to the hospital where I found my husband hanging on for dear
life. I immediately begin to pray, "Lord, don't take him now, I can't bare it." But my prayer echoed off the wall and returned into mine own ear.

That next morning I left the hospital tired and weary, and walked in the door of my classroom just in time to begin my comps. As the professors begin asking me questions I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. In my mind, I begin praying, praying hard, but my prayer echoed again and I found myself upset at God because He was no where to be found. I could not explain to them what was happening.

After leaving from my exams, I called in to work because I was so distraught at all that was going on. I explained to my supervisor what had happened and she demanded that I take some time off. After visiting my husband in the hospital that evening, I went home and fell into a sunken state crying and despairing. Just then I heard someone calling my
name.

"Lord, is that YOU?"

"Well yes it is. Do YOU have some time? I wanted to see if I could just talk . . . "

Instead of waiting to hear His questions, I lashed out in anger and resentment. "How is it that when I needed You today, YOU couldn't be found and last night I cried and cried but all I heard were echoes from the walls. My husband is dying, I'm flunking out of school, I may not have a job and You can just sit and say YOU want to talk?"

The Lord interrupted me in my foolish speaking.

"My child, I was busy, out looking for someone to go and tell others about Me when you cried. By the time I came to answer, you had moved on to something else. So, I decided to let your husband rest, and keep you home for a few days. That way MAYBE you would get in touch with Me, if YOU had some time. For you see, before your husband, your school, or
your job needs you, I NEED YOU. And if all these things take you away from Me, I have to almost take them away from YOU, in order to get a moment."

I calmed down and began to cry. For I remembered my prayer of wanting to go and do for the Lord.

He said, "I just wanted to recheck with you to see if you knew of ANYONE that I could send to be a witness for Me and tell others about Me . . . any one at all . . .?"

With tears in my eyes and feeling so unworthy I said, "Lord, send me, I'll go."

God should never have to ask us if we have some time. When He died on the cross He put aside everything to ensure us eternal life. We should be more than GRATEFUL to do service for the Lord -- to witness, and t
o tell ANYONE we can about Jesus. Don't let your "things," WHATEVER they may be, get you so tied up that God has to become a meeting time in your yearly planner. He had more than enough time for us. The least we could do is have time for him.

Grace IS enough

"I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens."
--Philippians 4:11

What if God's only gift to you was His grace to save you..would you be content? You beg him to solve your financial difficulties.
You pray for a speedy end to a cold or the flu. You ask him for a nicer car, a bigger house, help with relationship trouble, or a promotion at work. What if His answer was "My grace is enough."? Would you be content?
From Heaven's perspective, grace IS enough. If God did nothing more than save you from hell, could anyone complain? Having eternal life, dare we grumble at an aching body? Having being given riches in Heaven, dare we moan about earthly finances?
Our Heavenly Father has spared us from an eternity completely devoid of His presence and guaranteed us of an eternity with Him in His glorious kingdom. Everything else is just 'icing on the cake'.

Our delight is in knowing You, God

Psalm 119 33-40 NIV "Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!"
Dear Heavenly Father,
Your words truly are a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Our delight is in knowing You more every day as you so faithfully reveal Your purpose for each of us. Help us to remain in You always and abide in Your Holy ways. In Jesus name, amen.

I never knew you

There was an atheist who went through life like most people.
He had his good times and his bad. He died at an old age of 88.
He woke up and saw a man Standing in front of him. He said, "Who are you?" The man said, "Well, John, it doesn't matter now, you didn't know me while you were on the earth and it's too late for you to know me now."
John said, "Just tell me your name, maybe I did know you and I just don't remember."
The man said, "Well, John, my name is Jesus and I'm the one who died for you."
John said, "What....??? You aren't real....there is no God. How can this be?"
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the day you met your wife..???"
John said, "Well of course I do. It was the day she ran into the back of my car on the
freeway and I got out to yell at her. Of course I didn't, instead I fell in love with her."
Jesus said, "John, I made sure your wife ran into your car that day."John couldn't say a word.
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the time you were at work and on top of that tall building.??
You fell that day and if you had fallen to the ground you would have died."
John said, "Yeah, but I didn't fall." Jesus said, "No you didn't because I sent one of my angels to catch you."
John couldn't say a word.
Jesus said, "John, do you remember the day your baby girl was born?"
John said, "Well of course I do, that was one of the best days of my life!"
Jesus said, "I held that baby girl close to me before I sent her to you hoping you would see that beautiful creation and believe in me. I sent Christians to witness to you but you would not listen. I did everything I could possibly do to make you believe in me but you would not."
John said, "Jesus, please let me go back just one time so I can tell everyone
the truth!"
Jesus said, "John, I am sorry but it is too late. Depart from me, I never knew you."
